Grains are the hard seeds that are covered with husk and hair.

Types of grains
There are three types of grains that are available to us.
Whole grains: Whole grains are the ones that are in their ground form or complete form. Examples of whole grains being whole wheat are a rich source of vitamins, proteins, magnesium, fiber, etc. as compared to the other types of grains.
Refined grains: Refined grains are the purest form of grain as they get their bran and germ removed. They are less fibrous as they lose fiber in the refining process. Rice flour, bread, etc. are made using refined seeds.
Enriched grains: The refined grains that have lost nutrients are replaced with the same. Though many of the vitamins lost in the refining process can be added, the lost fiber is not replaced. Some of the refined grains are also enriched.
